Have you always dreamed of becoming a writer, or that the next big hit is in your head, if only you could just get started? Then look no further. Explore, develop and strengthen your writing, engaging your imagination in new ways by attending this course
To comply with our cancellation policy and procedures, courses that do not have 8 leaners enrolled 2 weeks prior to the course start date may be cancelled. Learners that have enrolled on courses that may be subject to cancellation will be contacted 2 weeks prior to the start date to advise them this may happen.
During the course the tutor will demonstrate a range of techniques and will use individual, group or pair activities as appropriate to enable learners to practise the skills and techniques taught. The pace of the course will be adjusted to the needs of individual learners.
This course is for beginners and those with some experience wishing to refresh or gain new skills.
Please bring a pen and paper to the class. Your tutor will advise you if any extra items are required for the following weeks - e.g. a small object to spark inspiration, magazine cut-outs, your current reading matter.
All of our Leisurestream courses are run purely on the fees that you as a learner pay as there are no government subsidies. Unfortunately this does mean that there are no concessions available so the full fee is applicable to everyone.
This is a great opportunity to develop your writing and make new friends. There are no formal qualifications awarded at the end of this course.
Norfolk Community Learning Services offers a wide range of both government-subsidised and self-financing courses. You may wish to continue on your current LeisureStream course and, subject to availability, you are welcome to do so. Alternatively, you may be interested in progressing onto a government-subsidised course or qualification. We recommend that you speak to your tutor or look on our website for further opportunities.
All of the courses that we run and are available for you to apply for are advertised on our website: https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/education-and-learning/adult-learning/courses

Financial support is not available for learners attending LeisureStream courses. If you feel that you need a course where support is available, we run a wide range of government supported courses that would be more suitable. For further information all of these courses are available on our website https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/education-and-learning/adult-learning
If you have a learning difficulty, a disability or another reason for needing extra support in the classroom, we may be able to arrange support for you throughout your course.
On LeisureStream courses, the cost of extra support in class is £11 per hour, and this would be paid for by the individual learner or shared between a group of learners requiring support in a class. This will be discussed with you at the time when you apply for extra support.
We can also, at your own cost, arrange assessments for Dyslexia Screening.
You can contact the Learner Services Team on 01603 306551 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
