This is a full-time course delivered over two days, 9.30 to 16.00, with additional home study. (Currently the course takes place on Thursday and Friday during term time).
The aim of the course is to introduce learners to the skills needed to work successfully at degree level, especially on health related degree programmes such as nursing, midwifery and occupational therapy. These skills are developed by working on essay writing, sitting examinations, carrying out research, taking part in discussions, giving presentations and group work. The course also aims to develop independence, encouraging learners to take a lead on their own assignments.
