Course Description

Gain a City and Guilds nationally recognised qualification in assessing workplace practice. This course has been designed to develop and improve assessor practice as well as providing a professional qualification that has been developed by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) for the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF).

What will you learn?

You will be supported to obtain the evidence required to meet the standards to achieve your qualification. You should anticipate two observations by your assessor to gather evidence of your practice, a professional discussion, written assignments and written/oral questions as necessary.
Your completed portfolio will include evidence of your understanding of the principles and practices of assessing workplace practice as well as evidence of your working practice as a trainee assessor.

How will the course be taught?

The course runs for 6 months with three sessions of classroom-based learning lasting for 3 hours (term time only).
In addition to the classroom sessions there are 2 observations completed in your workplace where your assessor will gather evidence of your practice.
As part of the course you will produce an e-portfolio
Assessment will happen throughout the course and there are no exams
You will be taught in small groups with friendly and supportive tutors who make sure your experience with us is both stimulating and enjoyable. Extra support with your learning, should you need it, is always available.

Before you book...

You will need to attend the information and guidance session where you will have an individual discussion with your tutor to check that it is the right course for you.
You will need to be able to undertake assessment activities for two learners in your specific curriculum area with the support of your line manager.
You will need to provide evidence of Level 2 in English and maths (GSCE grade A-C/4-9 or equivalent)
