From the Hardwick roundabout head into King's Lynn town centre, past Tesco on the left over the bridge at the next rounabout take the 2nd exit into Wisbech Road. Continue along into Saddlebow Road then turn left into St Michael's Road. Follow the road round to the right and South Lynn Community Centre entrance is on the right.

Course Description

Digital skills are used in all aspects of our lives today. Our courses help you to improve your digital skills with a recognised Functional Skills ICT qualification. From beginners to those of you who want to succeed in your workplace or to seek employment or help within your community.

What will I learn?

You will learn how to use the computer and identify different programmes for different purposes. You will also use Microsoft Office to learn how to create, edit, save and print documents. In addition you will learn how to use the internet effectively to search information and communicate with others using Email. You will have plenty of opportunity for hands on practice plus personal attention, observation, demonstration.

You will be given various tasks to complete during each session. You will need to work on a set of tasks throughout the course. Your tutor will provide regular feedback on your progress and achievement. You are expected to practice and complete homework when necessary. "

There are no entry requirements; however you will need a sound understanding of written and spoken English. You will be required take an initial assessment with our friendly tutors to be guided to the correct level for you.

Course Fee is £150.00 If you earn less than £15,737.00/annum or claim benefits then the course is free.

How to apply

Online

All of the courses that we run and are available for you to apply for are advertised on our website: https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/education-and-learning/adult-learning/courses

The easiest route for you to apply for a course is online. If this is your first time applying then you need to set up an account, otherwise you can simply log in using your email address or learner reference number and your password.

For Leisurestream and Community Learning courses you can enrol yourself directly onto the course and make your payment using a debit or credit card.

For our English and maths courses you can enrol yourself online onto the course and no payment is required as these are generally free. Once you have enrolled onto the course the tutor will be in touch with you to discuss the course and to give you the joining instructions.

For qualification courses you can apply online and we will invite you to attend a pre-course information session. At this session one of our tutors will discuss the course with you and make sure that it exactly what you are expecting and make sure that it will give you the right outcome. No payment is required to apply online and if any fees are due then we will contact you to take payment after your information session.
