Course Description

Develop and improve your lipreading skills and learn alongside people who have similar experiences and develop the ability to watch and feel the shape of spoken English. Throughout this helpful and informative course you will learn: how to build confidence, coping strategies for difficult situations, about technical aids to hearing loss and support services available.

What will you learn?

During the course you will develop the following skills:
* Using lip reading in everyday life
* Understanding different lip shapes
* Finger spelling
* Coping strategies
* Conversation strategies
* Observational skills
* Concentration skills
* Understanding of familiar vocabulary
* Confidence

How will the course be taught?

The course consists of 3 terms of 9 weeks and all sessions classroom based.
Throughout the course you will be taught by a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, listening practice, practical working in groups/pairs, discussions and demonstrations of practical equipment that can help in a variety of situation
