Held in the Pottery Studio at Wensum Lodge this course will offer the opportunity to develop ceramic and pottery skills in throwing, hand building and glazing techniques while pursuing individual projects.
During the sessions there will be a mixture of group demonstrations and one-to-one individual support and guidance. Learners are encouraged to carry out their own research into making and decoration methods. The Tutor will give regular feedback on projects supporting learners to improve their skills and knowledge.
This course is for learners with experience in pottery/ceramics and is not suitable for beginners.
We advise that you wear old clothing and footwear as your clothing may get soiled even though aprons are provided. It is recommended that a sketchbook is kept to collect ideas and to record technical learning.
All of our Leisurestream courses are run purely on the fees that you as a learner pay as there are no government subsidies. Unfortunately this does mean that there are no concessions available so the full fee is applicable to everyone.
There are no formal qualifications offered with this course.
Norfolk Community Learning Services offers a wide range of both government-subsidised and self-financing courses. You may wish to continue on your current LeisureStream course and, subject to availability, you are welcome to do so. Alternatively, you may be interested in progressing onto a government-subsidised course or qualification. We recommend that you speak to your tutor or look on our website for further opportunities.

If you have a learning difficulty, a disability or another reason for needing extra support in the classroom, we may be able to arrange support for you throughout your course.
On LeisureStream courses, the cost of extra support in class is £11 per hour, and this would be paid for by the individual learner or shared between a group of learners requiring support in a class. This will be discussed with you at the time when you apply for extra support.
We can also, at your own cost, arrange assessments for Dyslexia Screening.
