Course Description

Keep the Children busy this half term, create a moment of calm amongst the mayhem. The session is offered to families of children who are age 6 and above, each family enrolling on the course to consist of one adult and maximum of 2 children, no younger siblings please. Come and join us for half term fun, the crafts activities planned are intended to be calming and help children sit down and de-stress. We are offering this two hour session to have a go at a range of fun and engaging crafts with your children (up to 2 children per booking with one accompanying adult) to promote calm and wellbeing, as well as just having some plain old fun during the school holidays. Crafts will include, finger knitting, four finger knitting, braiding and plaiting. All of these can be made into a friendship bracelet. There will also be a weaving activity. During the session and at the venue parents are expected to be responsible and mindful of their children at all times. Children are to be accompanied by the adult at all times.

What will I learn?

During the session families will be able to join in fun creative activities together. Parents will learn how mindfulness activities support a child's wellbeing and will also learn new skills to use with their child in the future. Children will learn the skills to complete the crafts and then create objects of their own choice to take home. Activities include finger knitting, braiding and weaving a web. As an example you can make objects such as snakes, spiders, flowers etc for the web. Maybe weave your own Halloween web or simply make animals such as rabbits, octopus or one of your own choice.

On LeisureStream courses, the cost of extra support in class is £11 per hour, and this would be paid for by the individual learner or group of learners requiring support in a class. For example, if two learners in a class require extra support, then they would share the cost of this support by paying £5.50 per hour each. This will be discussed with you at the time when you apply for extra support.
