Course Description

Do you want to further develop your basic knowledge of the language? Join a friendly group, consolidate and further develop more practical language skills and gain confidence when you communicate in specific situations.

What will I learn?

This course will enable you to further develop your basic knowledge of the language. Your tutor will widen your vocabulary and ability to use the language in everyday situations and you will learn to communicate with greater confidence.

Is this course right for me?

This course is for anyone who has attended a Beginners Next Steps course, or who has a basic knowledge of the language and wishes to further develop a few more practical language skills to give you the confidence to get by in the language and in specific situations.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a pen and a notepad to the class. Your tutor might recommend the use of a text book, and will be able to suggest reference material, whether on paper or online.

How much does this course cost?

All of our Community Learning "leisure & pleasure" course are partly subsidised by the Education & Skills Funding Agency, a central government agency that is responsible for funding schools as well as adult learning. This means that we can charge a very low full fee of £5.50 per hour and offer a concessionary rate of £2.20 per hour for any learners that are in receipt of a means tested state benefit.

What qualification will I receive?

By the end of the course you will feel more confident in a range of situations that you may encounter on a visit to a country where the language is spoken.

What can I study next?

Language Improvers
